Why am I charged a Service Fee?

Do you provide workers’ compensation insurance?

tilr does not provide workers’ compensation insurance as our worker population is made up of independent contractors. tilr does, however, maintain Occupational Accident Insurance (OAI). OAI provides benefits for medical expenses, disability, loss of life, survivor payments, dismemberment, and paralysis for covered injuries directly caused by an occupational accident.

In the event that I get injured, how do I submit a claim?

If you become injured while performing on-demand services when utilizing the tilr platform, an Occupational Accident Insurance claim will need to be reported immediately.


To report the claim, you will need to call the OneBeacon claims call center at 1-877-441-6274 – available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will be asked to provide your policy number during the call. Please use: 216-002-284.


If your injuries require immediate medical attention, please go directly to the nearest hospital for medical treatment or call 911. However, if your injuries are not urgent and you would like to use a physician or hospital that participates in the network that OneBeacon utilizes, you should call 1-877-441-6274 during the business hours of 9:00 am-5:00 pm EST, Monday-Friday.

Who do I contact if I have a question about OAI?

What is Occupational Accident Insurance (OAI)?

Occupational Accident Insurance (OAI) insures independent contractors for covered injuries that happen while logged into the tilr app and performing on-demand services. OAI provides benefits for medical expenses, disability, loss of life, survivor payments, dismemberment and paralysis for covered injuries directly caused by an occupational accident.


What benefits are included with OAI?

For covered injuries, you and your family are protected in several important ways including accident medical expense, temporary total disability, accidental death, survivors benefit, and accidental dismemberment.


I’ve already worked for tilr before the OAI launch date. Does OAI apply to me?

Yes, beginning October 20th, 2018, all tilr Community Members will be automatically covered by OAI, whenever a Member works an opportunity through tilr.

Can I use the tilr technology with my existing workforce?

What happens if a tilr worker does an unacceptable job?

You have the ability to rate the tilr at the end of the shift with a thumbs up or thumbs down. You are able to provide feedback about the worker and your experience within the app. If you have a larger issue that needs attention, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Can I hire permanently through tilr?

Absolutely. tilr has a disruptive hiring fee, much below industry standards. Consult with your Customer Success Manager or Business Development Manager for more information.
